We're excited to share brand new spy photos of a Tonale prototype testing in Turin, Italy.
The Tonale is Alfa Romeo's entry into the subcompact luxury crossover segment. It will be the below the Stelvio in their lineup in both price and size.
The Tonale is expected to be available with an eAWD system that uses an electric motor to deliver power to the rear wheels. It's the same system Stellantis uses with the Jeep Renegade. With a 1.3L gas engine the the hybrid system delivers 240 horsepower. The Tonale will share most of its platform with the Renegade.
We don't know yet which features will be available on the Tonale but the 2019 Tonale concept had a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.3 inch infotainment screen.
The Tonale will be competing in a competitive market with the likes of the Audi Q3, BMW X1/X2 and the Lexus UX. Pricing has not been announced yet. It's expected to arrive in time for a model year 2022 classification.
